Getting to Know Mitragyna Speciosa

Mitragyna speciosa can grow easily in the tropical regions in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia and hardly grow in cold climates.

However, it can also grow in a cold climate by providing optimum quality. These plants can produce products such as Red Borneo, White Borneo, red maeng da kratom, Kratom Extract and Kratom Capsule which can help your health.

Kratom can help with things like stress, depression, insomnia and pain management and can also help improve focus and creativity – there is an optimal dose which will produce the desired effect, which it is important to be aware of when starting to use kratom products.

How to Grow Mitragyna Speciosa

Kratom, also known as Mitragyna Speciosa

Kratom is difficult to grow in different places and situation. They can start growing from cuttings or seeds. However, both ways have a low percentage to grow in different conditions. Kratom seeds are generally soft, and grow in potheads. Its size is less or almost equal to the size of a silver.

They also have a lower germination rate than the usual. Mostly, they’re viable for two days after getting shed from the tree. The seeds must be fresh and should only be planted in a large group of seeds to increase the chances of getting a single successfully grown seedling.

Seeds lose the freshness and will not grow if they aren’t immediately grown. This is the reason why some fail in growing dry seeds. Cuttings are similarly difficult, because of fungus or never grown roots.

Kratom Plant Growing Conditions

Sunlight and Humidity

Place the individual cutting in a moistened pot full of moss or growing medium and seal it inside a plastic bag. This keeps out the plant of direct sunlight until the roots begin to appear.

After which, occasionally open the plastic bag to make the plant feel or get used to lower humidity. Soon enough, remove the bag and move it to sunlight.

They need fertile and nitrogen-rich soil. Kratoms need no drainage. They are sensitive to drought and watering too much can damage them. The soil should be wet but it should not be saturated.

The soil should contain instructions on it regarding the time when nutrients will run out (usually 2 to 4 weeks) and after that, you have to use all natural fertilizers. Feed in accordance with the manufacturer’s’ instructions.

Using a humidifier could be an excellent idea for growing Kratom indoors especially in dry areas. You have to make sure that Kratoms receive the right amount of lighting every time and hence always supply the plants with good artificial lighting such as high-intensity bulbs.

Metal halides can also be a good choice because they contain a high amount of blue in its color spectrum, preferred for plants in vegetative growth. One problem with HID is its light can be intense.

Furthermore, record how the plant responds to the different distances of light and adjust it accordingly. Putting the plant near the window that can get too much sunlight is also a great option.

Kratom Plant Growing Conditions

Ventilation and Temperature

Ventilation is another criteria to consider for growing Kratom indoors. Fresh air from the window and a fan will be sufficient for growing few plants.

Warm breeze will cause the production of alkaloids in Kratom leaves and hence adding a fan will help to get dry air. But if you want your Kratom to grow at their full potential, then they also need to be exposed to fresh air.

Apart from ventilation, you should also take control of the temperature. If you are living in colder regions, heating can easily be done with space heaters. This allows you to create a tropical indoor habitat for your plants.

Kratom Plant Pest Control

As another problem, you will have to protect your plant from bugs. Horticulture oils can be neem oils or vegetable oils in the kitchen.

However, it does not only prevents bugs from eating the plant’s leaves but also inhibits other bugs to reach full maturity and puts an end in their reproductive cycle.

Therefore, gardeners should apply it multiple times (typically 2 to 3 times a week). This protects your plant from bug eggs hatching and reproduction. Other alternatives can be with the use of horticultural and natural soaps.

On the other hand, hot pepper can be your option if you have bug problems. Blend hot pepper with water for you to make a pepper spray. After which, spray an amount of it to the plants.

After successfully growing your Kratom plants, you have to harvest its leaves. The leaves are generally most powerful during autumn before the leaves naturally fall off. The first yield can be harvested when the seeds have sprouted usually within the year of planting.
